__NOTOC__ Gmina Alwernia is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Chrzanów County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the town of Alwernia, which lies approximately south-east of Chrzanów and west of the regional capital Kraków. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 12,689 (of which the population of Alwernia is 3,406, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 9,283).
